Towards a more fair society
Founded in 1840, a period marked by the absence of state guaranteed social security, Associação Mutualista Montepio introduced Portugal to a pioneering type of support: the payment of survivors’ pensions.
Today the Association is a reference in the social sector of the economy, with more than 630 thousand members, and remains faithful to the principles that made it the largest association of Portugal and one of the biggest in Europe.

Founded on October 4, 1995, Fundação Montepio plays a fundamental role in establishing partnerships and granting support to the Third Sector.
Banking Activity
Dedicated to banking, Caixa Económica Montepio Geral was founded in 1844 as an entity attached to Associação Mutualista Montepio.
Insurance Activity and Pension Funds
Montepio Seguros is an insurance holding that owns Lusitania, Lusitania Vida, Futuro and N Seguros.
Residências Montepio
Residências Montepio focuses on the management of residential centers and provides health and wellness services.
Montepio Gestão de Ativos
The Asset Manager arm of the Group, focusing on investment funds management.
